A Literary Misnomer-Day 3-It’s a Limerick

I’m embarrassed, abashed and chagrined for I did pick                                                                                 For two days past to pen a literary form so quick

What was I thinking,  I publicly labelled and to the blogosphere told                                    I would daily for several consecutive create an ode

I thank a friend for setting me right, for the form is actually limerick!

The world is coming undone and things are going to pot                                                 When anyone anywhere can write something, give it a shot                                                            For those professional writers and grammarians it must be all they can bear            When unrefined folk like me go on a tear                                                                                  And decide willy nilly to keyboard a rhyme                                                                           With ignorance to form and established verse                                                                        And the nerve! to post a blog for the world to see                                                                 You think you’d take a moment to get it right they mime                                                      And vow if they meet me to be very terse                                                                                 For it’s obvious this woman doesn’t know a literary q from a p

(Ode)

I think I got the rhyming scheme down for each form now.  If it’s not right, I’d appreciate a course correction from someone out there.  One of the references said that limericks are often obscene.  I seem to be digging myself in deeper every day.
